Available VYVANSE doses
VYVANSE capsules contain 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg, 50 mg, 60 mg or 70 mg of lisdexamfetamine dimesilate as the active ingredient.1
VYVANSE should be administered orally at the lowest possible dosage and should then be slowly adjusted to the lowest effective dose for each individual.1

How a Prodrug works
VYVANSE contains a pharmacologically inactive prodrug, lisdexamfetamine dimesilate1,2
- Release of active d-amfetamine from the VYVANSE prodrug occurs predominantly as a result of aminopeptidase-like activity in red blood cell cytosol.2,4
- This rate-limiting process generates a d-amfetamine pharmacokinetic profile, which appears to be consistent with the maintenance of efficacy of VYVANSE throughout the day following a single early morning dose.2, 4-6
- VYVANSE provides up to 14 hours’ duration of action.1,7
- Food does not affect the observed AUC or Cmax of dexamfetamine after administration of VYVANSE but a high fat meal can prolong Tmax by approximately 1 hour.1
- Omeprazole and other drugs which lower gastric pH do not interact with VYVANSE.8

13 to 14 hour sustained effect1
In clinical studies conducted in children and adults, the effects of VYVANSE were ongoing at 13 hours after dosing in children and at 14 hours in adults when the product was taken once daily in the morning.1
